Frequently asked questions

Q1: What is performance advertising? A: In short, performance advertising is when a media partner agrees to promote another company’s products or services—receiving payment for the promotion only if a consumer responds. So if consumers respond to the advertised promotion with the agreed-upon results, such as completed orders, lead forms, calls, or downloads, the advertiser pays the media partner.

Q2: What’s the difference between an advertiser, a media partner, and an agency? A: An advertiser is a company that wants customers to purchase (or seriously consider) its products or services, and is willing to pay for referrals, leads, or sales.

Media partners can reach an audience and effectively market the products and services of other companies (i.e., advertisers). In pay-for-performance advertising, media partners will receive payment contingent on completed transactions.

An agency is a company that works on behalf of advertising or media partner clients. Its needs are different as they may be working across multiple client campaigns, thus having additional reporting metrics.

Q3: As an individual can I sign-up for Impact Radius? A: Yes, individuals can establish member accounts to gain access to Marketplace, and, if invited, may receive access to one or more advertiser, media partner or agency platform accounts. Member profiles include individual bio and contact information, as well as links to social network profiles, blogs and industry websites.

Q4: Is it free to sign-up for inclusion in Marketplace? A: Yes, creating an individual member account gives you FREE access to the Impact Radius Marketplace. Additionally, you can be invited to accounts on the Impact Radius platform (as required), and you have a “shop window” to promote campaigns or media properties of which you are affiliated. As an Impact Radius Marketplace member, you can upload individual biography and contact information as well as links to social network profiles, blogs, and industry websites.

Q5: What if my agency already handles my performance advertising—can I still work with Impact Radius? A: Yes, Impact Radius has a complete agency module to make it easy for them to manage your performance advertising campaigns as well as for other clients.

Q6: If I don’t have a website, can I still use Impact Radius for advertising on a performance basis? A: Yes, Impact Radius supports both online and offline performance advertising. For instance, if your company can receive sales or leads through a call center, Impact Radius can still track your media partners’ advertising on a performance basis. Or, if your company can reach audiences through traditional media, Impact Radius can track the effectiveness of your promotional efforts.

Q7: Do I need technical resources to get started? A: Yes, to implement tracking you will need technical expertise. If you don’t have your own technical resources, we recommend searching Marketplace for companies that can assist you.

Q8: If my company works with performance advertisers and/or media partners, but we’re not an “agency,” can we still be included in the Impact Radius Marketplace? A: Yes, in addition to agencies with traditional marketing and advertising services, the agency listings in the Marketplace may also include technology solutions or service providers across all channels of advertising.

Q9: How long does it take to get started? A: Establishing a Marketplace listing is free and only takes a few minutes of your time. Additionally, accounts on the Impact Radius platform are typically set-up and launched in a matter of days.

Q10: Does Impact Radius require exclusivity or a lengthy commitment from my company A: No, we designed the Impact Radius platform for our clients to manage their performance advertising as best suits their marketing goals.

Q11: What advertising channels does Impact Radius support? A: Impact Radius supports all advertising distribution channels, which include: TV, radio, print, out-of-home, web, email, outdoor, and mobile.

Q12: How does Impact Radius differ from an ad network? A: Impact Radius provides advertisers and media partners direct relationships with no intermediary involved. This lets media partners choose specific offers to run in the inventory available on their media properties—which is unlike ad networks because the ads are not served into ad placements. This gives advertisers and media partners greater direct control of the marketing campaigns.

Q13: Is Impact Radius an affiliate network? A: No, Impact Radius is not an affiliate network as it simply provides the tools and technology for advertisers, media partners, and agencies to efficiently manage creative, track campaigns, maintain campaign budgets, reconcile payments, and strategize for improved results. Impact Radius does not get involved in any of the direct relationships other than facilitating payouts via the technology and tools embedded in its platform.

Q14: How does Impact Radius make money? A: Impact Radius calculates its fees on a performance basis and only when its clients successfully generate results. In other words, your success is our success.

Q15: How much does Impact Radius cost? A: Impact Radius offers competitive rates and a unique approach to its fee calculation. Pricing is tiered to meet your company’s specific volume needs. Discover which offerings are right for your company as an advertiser, media partner, or an agency partner.
