Feature Focus: Bar & Pie Charts

Visualizing your data is a great way to unlock insights. Columns of numbers don’t always make a story very clear. A simple visual can really make the key takeaway jump out at you. We’re visual creatures after all – in fact, the human brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text!


 

At Impact Radius we find bar and pie charts to be great tools for visualizing your data. Seeing your media mix split up in a pie allows you to instantly compare the relative impact of channels or media partners. You can select the media you want to compare and the graph populates, with various metrics to analyze. Our bar graphs also present a nice colorful visual to determine each media’s role in the context of your overall marketing efforts.

In the platform, mouse over a slice of a pie or bar for more information about that subset. You can toggle between the chart types with the icons in the top right. If you are having a hard time choosing between pie and bar, remember that pie charts work best when you are trying to compare parts of a whole and don’t show changes over time. Use our bar or line graphs when you want a view of change over time.

You can screenshot these images if you want, to share them with some of your colleagues. You’ll look like a chart master with these at your fingertips.
