With 214 speakers over 4 days, there were plenty of great sessions and workshops to choose from. Technical innovation and the role of mobile devices were some of the hottest topics. Jason Goldberger of Target and Christopher McCann of 1-800-Flowers.com both gave informative keynotes. Jason inspired attendees to make mobile their business’ “new front door” while Christopher encouraged e-retailers to consistently test new technologies.
While there were many stand-out sessions, Why Second Generation Affiliate Programs Are Producing Better Results was definitely a favorite. Robert Glazer from Acceleration Partners and Greg Hintz from Shutterfly discussed how technology solutions, like Impact Radius, are pivotal in understanding the incremental value of individual affiliates and the affiliate channel overall. We could not agree more!
Extraordinary Exhibit Hall
The Exhibit Hall represented an equal mix of fun and function. With over 600 companies exhibiting, there were plenty of interesting people and companies to stay occupied throughout the three days. Exhibitors covered every internet retailer need and brought along some awesome giveaways. At any point if the rows of booths became too overwhelming, a visit to the MasterCard BackYard was the place to go for Baggo, Giant Jenga, and Connect Four. If that still didn’t satisfy the recess required, booths inside the exhibition hall offered free massages or a chance to take a spin in a race car simulator!
Opportunity to Network
Similar to past years, the receptions on Tuesday and Wednesday provided a great opportunity for industry professionals to come together and learn from one another. This year’s after-parties with their iconic Chicago-style fare and atmosphere did not disappoint, especially for any Blackhawks fans. Overall IRCE was a great opportunity to expand professional networks, delve into industry trends, and advance internet retailer knowledge. See you next year!
