If you walked through the Impact Radius offices in November, you may have wondered if you had wandered into a 70s Miami club or on the set of a Magnum P.I. remake. For thirty days, the distinguished gentlemen of Impact Radius brought the Chevron, the Handlebar, and other fine mustaches (partially) back in style. Not for personal fame of course, but for a great cause!
Yes, Movember was in full force at Impact Radius.
Our Mustache Radius team pledged to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues – specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. Joining the thousands around the world to “effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November.”
Oh, and there was also a little competition involved.
Movember spread through the Santa Barbara tech community as five companies engaged in a friendly competition. Commission Junction, RightScale, RingRevenue, TapJoy and Impact Radius challenged each other to not only grow the finest mustaches in town but also to raise as much money as possible for beneficiaries such as the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the LIVESTRONG Foundation.
Through the mid-month Movember party, the teams were close in both funds raised and ‘stache quality. But the wallets really started opening up for team Impact Radius in the second half as they cruised to a first place finish with a total of $5,330. Todd Crawford also won for most money raised by an individual with $2,110. Way to go team!
Altogether, the five teams raised a combined $12,260 while simultaneously beautifying the faces of many in Santa Barbara.
And finally, for your viewing pleasure, the MoBros of Mustache Radius:
